May Release

May Release

Posted by Misa on 14th May 2022

Hi everyone!

Wow, it has been a while since I've updated the blog, and I really didn't intend to neglect it for so long. I just got busy with real life and designing new pieces - for those who have been following me, April was huge and I am generally almost always thinking of what to restock... so what that means is I have very little time to introduce anything new as I'm just restocking.

The May release is due to go live on 15th May 2022 at 10am AEST. I already have the Sunflower LTD available, but the other two new styles will go live at 10am in the morning. I think the KOI fish are the best work I've done to date (though there are a heap of other things I feel very proud of), and with the COSMOS Mini Charm Hoops I feel that they are very on trend, but offering something new for those who love polymer clay.

Usually with polymer clay we associate this medium with being big more than small as it is so lightweight and colourful so it is easy to make something really bold. I feel that this year a lot of the polymer clay and jewellery/ accessories trend is generally on the small or even micro side, so I have done all of this designing in mind with what's in, and of course, what I believe will be relevant for a long time, so that you can wear your pieces without them outdating or needing to attach an age bracket to them.

As a designer, I also will unapologetically only offer designs that I want to make and can see myself or others wearing. By this I mean I also understand that maybe not everyone wants something big, fancy, detailed or expensive (if price is a factor, and of course it is); however if I am constrained by price points and taking into consideration Customer A hates hoops and Customer B only wears silver, I won't be able to fully exercise my potential creativity to a maximum.

For most of you who have followed me and read about my story, I find it almost a blessing that I discovered polymer clay although it was quite a recent thing only. If only I knew about it earlier - but I truly think that I can take myself and design to new territories and try to use this skill to make the world a happier, better place.

This is why I've made the Sunflower LTD - although it may not sell well or even sell at all (yes, this is a real issue all small business owners face), I hope that it will bring about some awareness and hopefully, even if just one person wants to support the cause then I think I have achieved a small step towards a better tomorrow.

Thank you for reading so far, and for following my journey. I'm always low key proud of how far I've come, and it always feels surreal. I know my stuff isn't for everyone, but for those who appreciate my work and why I do what I do, I sincerely thank you.
