1x Vintage Silk Kimono Remnant Patchwork Infinity Scarf (as shown in photographs) - with handstitched branded label
What is better than one beautiful pattern? The answer is probably "lots of patterns!".
The "Medley" infinity scarves are made from vintage silk kimono remnants, joined together so you can have countless ways of wearing the one scarf, depending on which pattern and colours you choose to display at the front. These are also not as wide, great for those who like their scarves less bulky.
Each scarf is one of a kind.
A bit of a funny story: the last time I visited in Japan, I lost my scarf on the way to Asakusa while doing a kimono rental. I was very sad as it was a designer scarf I had purchased for my own birthday and I owned it for a few years. Now I've decided to make infinity scarves, so that way, they won't ever fall off the neck and get lost!
This particular scarf uses fabrics with a darker purple base. The fabrics range from smooth to smooth (textured) and are low to medium sheen. Large peonies and chrysanthemums, plum blossoms and wisteria are shown throughout. One panel features an unstringed koto instrument and there are a few golden accents.
The "inner" layer is a 96% polyester 4% spandex crepe fabric in a navy colour made in Korea, and is of medium weight. It is soft and drapes beautifully. There may be creases/ folds on this lining due to how it was folded around the bolt, and they should come out over time/ after a clean.
There is no twist in the scarf, taking into account that the scarf can be folded flat if you choose to store it in a drawer.
To wear: simply twist the scarf into a figure eight, and pop over the head - adjust as you wish to show which colours you want more, and feel free to move it towards your back to shorten, or wear it as one short loop and one long loop - or one long loop and let hang. This MEDLEY scarf is long enough to twist around three times (triple) and sits super snug and short.
Please be advised that none of the fabrics have been prewashed and the vintage kimono silk is estimated from the 1980s and is in very good condition for its age. The scarf was lightly ironed/ pressed during construction, but nothing too much as the scarf is best worn puffy and not flat.
