Upcoming April Markets 2021
Posted by Misa on 23rd Mar 2021
Hi all!
I'll be at:
Glebe Markets Sat 3rd April 2021 (Grass Area)
Kirribilli Markets Sun 11 April 2021 (Burton St Tunnel)
I've been a bit busy sorting out my stock, figuring out "display" things and coming up with a few new things here and there. After a pretty traumatising first market being belted by wind and rain, I've made a submission to be in the tunnel at Kirribilli - and I was granted access!! For those who don't know, you need to make your own products - and I assume it needs to be of a certain quality - in order to get access to the tunnel. I did a lot of background reading, and it seemed like a daunting process and difficult - but it worked out! I'm a little bit proud of myself, as it feels like a small milestone since making my things since November 2020. I only started making polymer clay earrings from like, January 2021, so I'm thrilled.
Things upcoming in April: I will restock some paper cherry blossom studs with new and improved construction 2.0 (I had a bit of a mishap with my stock on market day), but rest assured ALL the cherry blossom studs, including the old ones, have been upgraded. New colours and patterns will be available - but only in limited quantities. These were actually my best selling earrings on market day (not surprising, because I didn't manage to display anything else other than earrings, so I was a bit sad to see that they were damaged during transport. Not any more though! It caused me a sleepless night, but I'm ready to move onto bigger and better things.
Mother's Day is coming up soon. I know it's in May, but it's early May - and if I will have a market, it will probably be the day before Mother's Day, and on Mother's Day. Hopefully I will also find a market a week before Mother's Day - but I haven't looked that far yet. I've been experimenting with mixed media, and so far I am liking the results. I got the idea from standing all day at the last market, and thinking about what items I had in my inventory I could use to create something beautiful. I've tested out an initial assembly, but am still waiting for parts to arrive before I can consolidate and document, post, etc the new range.
Hope you all are safe and dry with this very wet weather currently in Sydney. I don't ever remember it being this wet in years, and I just have my fingers crossed for a good weather market next.
Hope to see you again next market - or before then, if I next blog/ update my Instagram.
