Thanks for coming! Chiyogami Collection to be phased out online

Posted by Misa on 14th Jun 2021

Hello everyone! It's a rather nice day and it's quiet - it's the Queen's Birthday today!

Thank you everyone who dropped by to visit me at Kirribilli yesterday - I'm pretty sure almost everyone I spoke to saw my stall for the first time, and I sincerely hope you enjoyed the experience :) I'm always happy for you to browse at your own pace (I always have a dilemma - to say hello or not to say hello - I find a lot of the time being "hello"'d at by a stall holder gives a bit of pressure and shoppers tend to quickly skim and leave - my aim was not this at all, so if I don't say hello, please don't be offended - I just want you all to feel free to browse and look without feeling pressured at all). Sorry for the digression, but yes it was a lovely day and thank you to everyone - hope you all enjoyed shopping! I also realised that my stall was a little bit dark after lunch (natural lighting non existent), but I think I like this stall location. It's the second time I've been at this stall location actually (the other time was in April) - and I think I might book this same spot for next time to make it easier for you to find me.

Some housekeeping issues - the Chiyogami paper collections are a bit tedious for me to audit on a long term basis because there are just literally millions of different combinations out there. I have made a decision to stop listing them online - but that's for any future batches, or the few I made this time but forgot to list. Each paper earring has a descriptive name, but for future batches, all new earrings will simply exist under a generic name and code (so no colour or pattern distinction) - and the most important thing is that these will be available only at my pop ups. Phew - so that takes a bit of a workload off from me.

On other sad news, my mini batch of fabric still hasn't arrived and has gone temporarily limbo. EDIT: It came! And it delivered! I made a mistake myself but the supplier was very generous - I might reconsider, provided I have no time constraints/ need it in a hurry. I am working on a new one for a hugeee batch of amazing goodies, and hopefully I will get it before the end of June so I have new things ready for July. It's a very complicated process right now, and I've been jumping through some hoops, but I have been getting a little bit of help - so yay!

Right now I'm having a little bit of a rest - I can't do much without materials to work with, and my next clay collection is due probably end of July or August.

My next pop up is back at The Cannery Rosebery for both Saturday and Sunday the 3rd and 4th July! I'm excited - it's my first trial of a full weekend, and I think it will be lots of fun. I had a great time at The Cannery last time, because I actually really love the place itself - we go there quite a bit for lunch and all because it's so close to home, and it has a great industrial feel that's so Rosebery/Alexandria if anyone knows what I mean. With the new setup, I think it'll be even better!

I'll continue working behind the scenes, thanks again and hope to see you again next time!
