Next Market: The Cannery Markets, Rosebery
Posted by Misa on 15th Apr 2021
Hi everyone!
I've been taking a small break from creating after I've completed my mystery white flower collection coming in May. I have been trying to confirm market dates before Mother's Day - because what other gift is better than gifting flowers? Flower earrings!
My next market lined up - I'm really excited that I will be at The Cannery Markets at Rosebery on Sunday the 2nd May 2021.
I've had my eye on The Cannery, but couldn't get the timing right, as I'm usually at the Kirribilli Art, Design & Fashion Markets. I wish I could be at two places at the same time BUT - for May, the markets are on different weeks - YIPPEE! I jumped right onto the bandwagon without skipping a heartbeat (never submitted an application so fast without thinking), and I'm stoked to join in May.
Usually it's a two day market (and most stalls are there for the two days), but something popped up on Saturday, so I will only be there on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to it, as The Cannery is probably the closest market I live near (it is just a 10 minute drive for me), so I'm really curious to know what the locals are like in my direct vicinity! By shopping local, this is absolutely local for me, and doesn't get any closer. My husband and I also like going to the Cannery for a casual lunch occasionally, and love the overall vibe of the place, so I'm really looking forward to it.
I do have a bit of preparation on my end to do, as it will be a different setup due to the space, but I'm in for a challenge - rain and wind don't intimidate me any more (well, rain still does, if I'm in a gazebo...), but as always, challenge accepted.
It's still very early, but from the line up so far, there are some amazing stalls at The Cannery, so if you can come, please do and support local! For those who don't know about The Cannery Markets, it's a two day market over a weekend, once a month, so be sure not to miss it. It's your market for great food/ artisan goods - come meet the bakers and makers.
Who will be at the Markets May 2021
Seeing Mochi La Vie on the website along with my "SAKURA" collection photo seems so surreal. Thank you to The Cannery Markets! This is amazing and I can't wait to be there.

I've currently got about 3 markets lined up for May (two are tentative/ awaiting payment - once that's been paid for I'll confirm the locations), which is pretty jam packed considering I do little mini restocks in between (each mini restock of a particular category takes at least 2 days). I did make some extra applications, but because it's been a while and I haven't heard back, I might settle for 3 (I don't know if I can do 2 days in a row at different locations haha). It does take me a solid day or two to recover from a market, I'm sure you will hear a lot of makers say that!

Once again, thank you everyone who has been following me from either the beginning or part of my maker journey so far. About three months ago I was still lost, never touched polymer clay in my life ever, and was still playing copious amounts of Animal Crossing (where I made a Japanese themed island). Being able to translate my feelings and thoughts into actual designs has been amazing, and if this is just the beginning, I can only anticipate I have even bigger and better things coming. I'm so thankful that when people see my market stall set up for the first time, without even knowing who I am or what I am doing, can actually tell from a glance what I am I trying to convey.
Thank you, sincerely.
See you in May!
