Next Market: Coogee Beach Club Markets and Kirribilli Markets

Posted by Misa on 7th May 2021

Hi everyone!

Up next on Saturday 8 May 2021 I will be at Coogee Beach Club Markets, which is down at the Coogee Beach Club (51 Dolphin St Coogee). There will be plenty of food (of course, it's a beach club!) and it is usually a small market, but for this month it is packed to the brim. I will be towards the back of the market (so from the entry, I will be in the row furthest away from the entry), but as usual I will be in my blue marquee and have my orangey red banner - so it's pretty hard to miss me.

The market is from 8:30am-2pm.

Following that on Sunday 9 May 2021 I will be back at Kirribilli Markets inside the Burton St Tunnel, along the wall! If I have my coordinates correct, it will be the northern wall, but there are two walls in the tunnel only - so if it's not this one, it's the other. There will be free kid's face painting at Kirribilli Markets and it will be FULL of Mother's Day gift ideas! Come along and say hi for your last minute gifts, because the next market I'll be at will be the end of May, and I have NO clue where I will be in June yet.

Speaking of which, I have done a pretty substantial restock of the chiyogami collection ready for this weekend, but due to a bad allergy as a result of my PPE, I don't see myself doing a restock any time after this until I find a solution or the allergy solves itself. It sucks because I need to wear PPE to make this collection, but my allergy won't allow me to wear it for long periods at a time. I might need to recruit a helper/ apprentice for the meantime, but don't count on this as a solution just yet... just an idea and I'm not keen because I'm pretty particular about quality and technique. Anyway, leave this with me and I'll sort it out. If there's anything in the chiyogami collection you like, I highly suggest you buy it, because I doubt I'll be able to remake similar/ more in the near future. Thank you!

June for me is a blank canvas right now, and I think it's a good time for me to step back and reflect a little bit. I am really looking to The Coal Loader at the end of the month and I'm sure I will be inspired. Should this be the case, June will be a fantastic time to re-evaluate my collections and see if I can come up with something fresh.

I will also be trying more markets and will be making more applications to see where I can go. Travel is not too much of a concern right now (though not too far). I'm looking into locations up north as well as down south (which is interesting because I haven't tried any southern markets yet) - if you have any suggestions, feel free to send me a message via Instagram, leave a comment or send me an email. I take all suggestions seriously and will try to accommodate provided it is within reason and a million other considerations - haha.

Please do stay safe as COVID numbers are popping up in NSW - at both events you can scan the check in code and I recommend you to wear a face mask. I will have my face masks with me if you wish to browse them, and feel free to help yourself to my hand sanitiser on my table. See you this weekend!
